Wikipedia

a. What is Wikipedia?
    - a multi lingual encyclopedia project 

b. How would you answer the question posed in this piece “How reliable can a source be when anyone can edit it?”
    - The fact that anyone can edit it is both good and bad, It gives any one despite their lack of knowledge to write what they choose but I feel that there are more people that would correct the false facts.

c. Who do the creators of Wikipedia place their trust in when it comes to weeding out misinformation? 
    -They feel that with so many people actively watching errors will be weeded out sooner rather than later

d. Why did founder Larry Sanger leave Wikipedia?
     - He believed it should give more authority to excperts and left to create another site

e. What would abuse or vandalism look like on a Wikipedia page? 
    - it typically looks unorganized and very poorly put together, or very onesided and extremely false

f. What do the statistics quoted in the third paragraph of this piece reveal?
    - There are over 2 million articles in 280 languages and it is one of the top 10 most visited sites. 

g. Why do you think Wikipedia is so successful?
    - Its is one of the top listed articles off of any search engine,  is easy to use and contains may different articles. 

h. Why might Wikipedia’s creators not want to accept advertising?
    - This way there is no bribery involved or false advertisement 

i. How does Wikiscanner help increase the reliability of Wikipedia entries?
   - It allows the anonymous users IP address to be checked in order to block and track down anyone that abuses the site.
