Double Journal Entry #7

Quote: From video games to social networks, incorporating what students are doing online into the school curriculum holds great, and perhaps the only, promise for keeping students engaged in learning.

Reflection: This quote from the reading shows that technology and using it to relate to students is the best hope that educators have reaching them the best they can. we all know that by using something new and interesting you spark the students attention at a greater level than by using the usual traditional  methods of classroom teaching. As our society continues to become more enveloped in the many different forms of technology it is important for teachers to stay up to date on trends in technology targeted for the age group that they are teaching in order to possibly incorporate it in their curriculum and make the students more aware of digitial media literacy by using some of the common tools and wbsites that the students use on a daily basis.

  1. Students today learn differently than students did thirty years ago. The education community and parents need to understand new media and appreciate how it needs to be leveraged for learners today and tomorrow.
